Meet Rachel Ackroyd

Hi, I’m Rachel , founder of The Clothes Hanger

I opened The Clothes Hanger in 2019, as I have always taken a keen interest in sustainable living. I wanted to offer people the choice to also shop more sustainably by buying and selling pre-loved clothing. I opened our first boutique in Horbury, West Yorkshire, before our current home in beautiful Holmfirth. I’m happy to say that many of my original clients and customers have follwed us there too! Personally, I love to hunt out unique pieces of clothing and bag a bargain in the process. The fact that I can turn pre-loved items into cash for people is fantastic.

As well as working in our boutique, I spend the rest of my week sourcing items, keeping you all up to date via our social channels ( so much of our lovely stock doesn’t make it the boutique – so if you don’t want to miss out, make sure you stay on top of our Instagram and Facebook pages where we showcase our latesr finds and prices) as well as home visits and wardrobe edits around the West Yorkshire area.

Not only can I make money for people by selling their gorgeous items, but the recycling of goods goes towards helping the environment too! Anyone that knows me will tell you that I like to help and do my bit and do not like to waste or throw anything away! I keep asking myself, why pay high-street prices when you can find unique items at a fraction of the price? Who doesn’t want to reuse, repurpose or recycle?”

Writing for websites is both simple and complex. On the one hand, all you need to do is say what you mean and in your words.

Are you thinking of keywords you should rank for? Are you including links in your text to additional information?

There’s a theory that people read in an F-shaped pattern, and that this should influence how you structure content on your website.
